Is there any software similar to the Wateen Connector for Linux, specifically, Ubuntu Linux.
I have developed my own, but honestly, I could use something a bit more professionally designed...

i dont think theres a version of Wateen Connector for linux, but i'm quite sure anyways that Wateen has resolved the issues alot.

anyways, i think i saw a script some where that does the auto connection but it was in Javascript and not quite that professional either.

I dont know if this will work, but try installing the .net framework for linux (ubuntu) and then try installing the Wateen Connector and see if that work.

I'm pretty sure there is a version of the .NET Framework for linux users.

However, software for Windows doesn't normally work as is on Linux, though there are exceptions.

There is a version of .NET for Linux, however, to use it, I need the source code for the Wateen Connector. Is it available?

Yes, you're correct.

but there shouldn't be much difference and theres also a good chance it might work - if you are able to install the .NET Framework.

Because Wateen Connector doesn't use the Windows API it borrows the complete functionality from the .NET Framework - that is why i am thinking it might work on linux (ubuntu).

Sorry, but unfortunetly the source is not available for download - why do you need the source code for the .NET Framework to work anyways?

because once an application is compiled on Windows, it always uses the Win API, even if just to do memory management and for showing windows, internet connections, etc...

thats why its impossible to actually run a Windows app on Linux without recompiling, unless u use WINE, which I don't think will be of any help in this case...
